Okay, forget the pledge then. The idea is that you can't kill the thread killing thread by posting on the thread. That only enables it. But you can do it by not posting there.

Quote:
In an effort to kill off the "Threads Killed"??? thread once and for all I propose we all give the following pledge:

Quote:
I, ____________, hereby swear to never again post on the "Threads Killed"??? thread and promise to ridicule anyone who does on this thread.

I'll start things off.

I, Uncle Green, hereby swear to never again post on the "Threads Killed"??? thread and promise to ridicule anyone who does on this thread.

Too bad you can't swear off silly threads.

And to Goldarn: Thanks for the publicity. You are not a thread killer. You are an enabler of inanity. Carry on.

Oh, I don't want to kill this thread. Whom would I mock?

Mock Mock Mock! I mock thee, I mock thee! If I cease to mock thee, may my stomach become bloated and my head be plucked of all but three hairs! Now let's all get drunk and play ping pong!

Wow, this is good stuff. Image

You don't want to kill the "Threads Killed"??? thread either apparently. That thread's continued existence is a testament to self-mockery.

I testify that the "Threads Killed"??? thread is the one and only true "Threads Killed"??? thread, and that other "Threads Killed"??? threads are either more than one, or not only, or not true. I testify that the mockery is true, except when it mocks as a man. I bear my testimony that these things are true, and that I found them in the bearing of them.

Also, bears are the one and only true large North American carnivore. Ramen.

And that's a ridiculous thread too. Everyone claims to kill it but no one ever does.

It seems that the reasons UG and others (who are these others -- raise your hands) dislike inanities and thread kill threads are the very same reasons that so many others (we all know who you are) find it so charming and irresistible.

UG, you might as well be hatin' on Thomas Kincade. Stuff like this will never go away, and be happy for it. Everyone needs a little steam-valve for life's inanities.

I like ridiculous threads. I enjoy thread kills. What I can't abide is when people who claim to be killing a thread get bent out of shape when someone else has a plan to actually kill it.

Hypocrites! Posers!
